ALGOMA BOREAL II
Mixed Media, 16 x 20 inches
Triptych (panel 3 of 3)
The inspiration for the Algoma Boreal series was dawn light in an Algoma region (Ontario) forest as clouds were clearing after a heavy rainfall. There is often a slight greenish tinge to the light if it is warm after a heavy rain. I wanted to convey the dampness of forest air and the feeling of looking at the sky through mist and trees as a storm is passing.

“No way has been devised for measuring the value of a work of art. History proves that juries in art have been generally wrong. With few exceptions the greatest artists have been repudiated by the art juries in all countries and at all times.” – Robert Henri (1865-1929)
