By being more attentive and inquisitive in the consideration of artwork, over time, we develop a degree of intuitive visual discernment—an undefined understanding that leads to a more satisfying visual experience where we can more easily identify and appreciate artistic choices pertaining to perceived visual depth, colour, mood, light, composition and what is being conveyed about the subject in an artwork. I have written a freely available ebook about just this—the bottom line on creativity, how it works and the psychology behind it.
